Before sharing them, let me say that I have tipped the scales recently at 10lbs over my desired weight.

How did I do that? Negligence, plain and simple. By avoiding the little things on a regular basis, it turned into a bigger problem.

So, I’m on the journey and will report weekly on my progress.

Set A 90 Day Goal

First and foremost is the decision to lose weight. Set a goal. This is a matter of both deciding what you want to accomplish and committing to it in writing.

You’ve asked the question, “how can I lose weight?” Now answer it by a commitment. Use a positive statement of being.

It’s best not to say I will because that expresses the future and subconsciously says what you want, but not what you already have.

To properly set your goal you must state it as an existing fact. If your weight is 180lbs and you want to lose 10lbs, state it in the present tense.

I am 170lbs of gorgeous beauty. Or if a male, I a 170lb hunk of solid muscle. At any rate, both are positively stated goals in the present tense.

How Can I Lose Weight? – Commit Your Goal To Writing

Take some 3 x 5 cards and write your goal down. Place it in conspicuous places.

Put it on the bathroom mirror, the refrigerator, on your nightstand and on your desk.

You want to trigger your subconscious and conscious mind regularly throughout the day to remind you of what you are accomplishing.

Take An Action Within 5 Seconds

Research shows that a new idea must be acted upon within 5 seconds or it is lost. If you’ve decided to lose weight, you should take action right now.

Do something now. Get on the scale, record your weight, write out your goal, paste it per above, join a support group, take a brisk walk or write a journal entry on why the topic “how can I lose weight” is important to you.

The most critical activity in accomplishing your goal is to take action no matter how small.

Lipase is defined as any enzyme which catalyzes the hydrolysis of fats into glycerol and fatty acids.

That simply means that it triggers the break down of fats into sugars and fatty acids. When it is shut off, these fatty acids and sugars are not absorbed.

When this occurs it can lead to diabetes, high cholesterol and increased body fat, including belly fat.

By standing up, you turn on this enzyme break-down process by engaging the muscles and promoting the distribution of lipases.

The body is then triggered to process fat and cholesterol, independent of the amount of time spent exercising.

So, if you can’t exercise, don’t have the time or choose not to for whatever reason, MAKE IT A POINT TO STAND!

This article is being typed on my computer which is sitting on a music stand. Believe it or not, I can tell the difference in the way my lower calves feel when I sit versus stand.

Even moderate exercise helps to reduce body fat and trim your belly. Some doctors suggest you should walk about 10,000 steps per day. That is about three 30 minute intervals on the treadmill at a very moderate pace.

However, if that is not possible then gather up a friend or two and walk around the neighborhood. Many schools have tracks that are very conducive to walking on a cool morning or afternoon.

But even if you are sitting, it doesn’t mean that you cannot get some exercise. Search for exercises you can do in your chair to lose belly fat.

Lower Your Caloric Intake to Lose Belly Fat

If you are consuming large amounts of calories cut back. You will never lose belly fat and weight if you are taking in more calories than you are burning.

You must burn off more than your intake. For example, if you are eating 2500 calories per day, then you must burn off 3000 calories to see some results. Or you could reduce the amount of caloric intake from 2500 to 2000.

DO THIS gradually until you reach a level which allows you to lose weight.

Reducing your caloric intake along with the exercise will give you greater results faster. It’s not rocket science. The most important aspect of weight loss activities is that you do them. Take action. Start now if that is feasible.
